Cranking up PSI near a control joint can chip the edges and leave you chasing a patch that never quite blends. The smarter play is picking the next step that matches what the surface is doing.

If your checks point to a surface stain/residue (hard surface, no dust, no chipping), start with the lowest-risk clean: a hose rinse and a concrete-safe detergent, then reassess after it dries—this is the practical difference in concrete discoloration vs damage. Don’t jump to “more PSI” as your plan. It’s an expensive way to end up with a bigger problem. Pressure washing outcomes come down to PSI and tip.
